This is awful. And not because they’re trans. They are nine, and they’re making a life altering decision. If it turns out they are really trans, that’s ok, but all the same they are too young to make a decision this big so young.
Her mom is a known trans activist and started her transition when the kid was 4. A FOUR. This is child abuse.
Okay, so I did some looking, and: Avery is currently just presenting as female. SHE is not on hormone blockers YET, nor has SHE had any form of surgery. So everyone who says this is abuse can fucking fight me. Right now, in the alley you fucking bitches.
The child was so adamant about being a girl, all sharp objects/scissors, even of the safety variety needed to be strictly supervised as the child had attempted to remove her incorrect genitals. Letting the child dress, act, and present as the gender they feel is correct is good parenting. I’m sure this family will chose hormone blockers for their child, which will delay puberty with zero harm to the body.
Hormone blockers are completely reversible at any point in time. Allowing hormone blockers to prevent puberty, which can be incredibly scaring for trans children, will give the child time to develop more mentally, without developing gender dimorphic traits, allowing the child more time to understand/define their gender identity. Once the child has grown more mentally, and emotionally, and is more prepared to make a more permanent decision on their gender identity, they can either remove the blocker and go through puberty as their birth assigned gender, or they can begin hormone replacement therapy to go through puberty of their true gender. Even going through HRT is reversible before you surgically remove the body’s biological hormone source.
Which FTR, gender reassignment surgery can come in many forms and stages, from just removing hormone source (ovary/testis), to full gender reassignment (removal of inappropriate genitals, then construction of gender appropriate genitals). No good doctor is going to do ANY form of gender reassignment surgery until after the child becomes 18years old. But hormone replacement therapy is safe enough that a good doctor versed in transgender patients would feel plenty comfortable starting a patient as young as 14, allowing them to go through the puberty of their choice through use of a hormone blocking implant. The HBT only works for a couple years at a time, meaning they have to be replaced or the patient will start to experience their assigned birth sex’s puberty.
You could effectively block a child’s puberty, with no permanent damage, having them go through puberty as an adult. They would still develop “normally”. I put normally in quotations because normal is a subjective term. In this case normally refers to healthy, with no defects/deficiencies attributed to the use of a hormone blocker. I think it would be way more abusive to force a child through a puberty that they are vocalizing is the wrong gender. Making a little girl start developing facial hair, or a little boy start developing breasts sounds far more abusive to me than allowing a child to act how they want, while delaying puberty to allow them to decide their gender with a more educated viewpoint.
Scientists taught 23 riding horses of various breeds to look at a display board with three icons, representing wearing or not wearing a blanket. Horses could choose between a “no change” symbol or symbols for “blanket on” or “blanket off.” Previously, their owners made this decision for them. Horses are adept at learning and following signals people give them, and it took these equines an average of 10 days to learn to approach and touch the board and to understand the meaning of the symbols. All 23 horses learned the entire task within 14 days. They were then tested in various weather conditions to see whether they could use the board to tell their trainers about their blanket preferences. The scientists report online in Applied Animal Behaviour Science that the horses did not touch the symbols randomly, but made their choices based on the weather. If it was wet, cold, and windy, they touched the “blanket on” icon; horses that were already wearing a blanket nosed the “no change” image. But when the weather was sunny, the animals touched the “blanket off” symbol; those that weren’t blanketed pressed the “no change” icon. The study’s strong results show that the horses understood the consequences of their choices, say the scientists, who hope that other researchers will use their method to ask horses more questions.

SO WE GOT OUR ICE CREAM AND FINALLY CALMED DOWN AFTER A WHILE ENOUGH TO TALK LIKE NORMAL HUMAN BEINGS
AND THEN WE MADE THE DAD TRY IT WHICH WAS A VERY FUCKING BAD IDEA AS HE WAS BROUGHT TO THE SAME STATE AND HAD TO GET ICE CREAM AS WELL
SO ALL IN ALL DONT PLAY THIS GAME UNLESS YOU EAT HOT THINGS LIKE MOTHERFUCKING CANDY OR YOU’LL REGRET IT

Jack (the horse) is 28 years old and instead of putting him in a turnout pen during the day we just let him roam the property. He usually sticks around the barn, grazing or just standing around. But his favorite thing to do is lay down in various random spots that he feels are comfortable. Every morning after they drag the arena footing he goes and flops down in the soft dirt. Whenever we get a new shipment of shavings you better believe Jack is right there rolling in them once the truck leaves.
This was one of his ground-softness-testings. The aisle is all rubber so it’s not hard but I doubt it was very comfortable. Jack would beg to differ.
